Bring back the bulls

"Having bull trout in this basin lets people know that the upper Clackamas is working the way it should, a place to be proud of, with cool clean water and an intact wilderness"

What are we doing?

Each spring, the NFI team collects juvenile (~500) and adult (~100) bull trout from the Metolius Basin and releases them into the Clackamas Basin. Each fish is tagged so that we can monitor their behavior after release. The translocated fish are monitored to determine their survival, whether they stay in the basin, whether they are spawning sucessfully, which areas of the basin they utilize, and whether they are having an impact on other native salmonids.
